 MG 5015Manita pec
Among 115 speleological objects so far known in the Paklenica National Park, Manita peć is the most famous among the visitors, as it is the only show cave made accessible to the public through guided visits. The cave's broad chambers and the beauty of its speleothems have been enchanting visitors since 1937. It is located at an altitude of 570 m a.s.l, and the walk up from the parking lot at Velika Paklenica takes about 1.30 h.

Climbing site

Paklenica National Park is the most visited climbing center in Croatia, also popular outside Croatia. The close proximity of seawater gives this climbing site a special charm, making Paklenica Riviera an ideal place to combine climbing and water sports. Today, there are about 500 well-equipped marked routes of different difficulty and length (from grade 3 to 8b+), set in the carbonate rocks, so each climber can find something to his/her liking.

Paklenica National Park is open for visiting!

Dear visitors,

following a good epidemiological situation in Croatia regarding the COVID-19 outbreak and the decision of the Government of the Republic of Croatia, Paklenica National Park, along with all other protected areas in Croatia, is now open for visits.

  • The main entrance (Entrance 1) in Velika Paklenica Canyon is opened every day from 6:00 until 20:30.
  • Manita peć cave is open exclusively on Saturdays from 10:00 until 13:00.
  • Foresters house Lugarnica, the Mountain Hut Paklenica and the café bar Bunker in the Visitor Center are open for visitors. Foresters House is, for now, open only on weekends.

According to social distancing measures, for now, only individual visits to the National Park are allowed.

We kindly ask you to respect the rules of social distancing and hygiene standards:

Physical distance – in national parks and nature parks it is suggested that visitors keep a minimum distance of 1,5 m from each other with the exception of family members. Avoid socializing in groups if possible. Wash your hands as frequently as possible and use hand sanitizers.

Avoid touching your eyes, mouth and nose in order to prevent the infection.

Sneezing/coughing. You are obligated to wear a mask if suffering from any respiratory difficulties. In order to protect yourself and others, we suggest you use masks and gloves, especially in closed spaces with a larger number of people (reception at the entrance, cave, toilets, etc.).

In case of any symptoms of acute respiratory infection (cough, sore throat, high temperature, short breath/difficulty in breathing, loss of smell and taste), it is necessary to stay at home/your accommodation and contact the chosen general practitioner, if any (Croatian nationals), or a competent local epidemiologist.

In case of respiratory disease symptoms. If you develop respiratory disease symptoms (high temperature, cough, shortness of breath, difficulty in breathing, sore throat, weakness), you should contact your chosen doctor by phone who will, based on your medical condition, assess the need for you to be tested for the new coronavirus. If you require medical assistance for reasons other than respiratory disease, you should phone your chosen doctor, or one of the members of your household can contact the doctor for consultations and arranging a house call. Do not visit healthcare facilities without having previously contacted them by phone. You can find more information on the coronavirus disease and measures for reducing the risk of spreading the disease on the website of the Croatian Institute of Public Health at https://www.hzjz.hr/sluzba-epidemiologija-zarazne-bolesti/koronavirusnajnovije-preporuke/, or from your chosen general practitioner and a competent local epidemiologist.

Croatian and foreign nationals may request additional information and clarifications by calling 112 or 113.
