Climbing marathon „Paklenica – from dawn to dusk“

TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE “PAKLENICA FROM DAWN TO DUSK 2024” CLIMBING MARATHON:
•   All participants must be at least 18 years old.
•   Participants apply in three different categories (men’s pairs, women’s pairs, mixed pairs).
•   All participants must send in (or bring along) a liability waiver stating that they enter the competition at their own risk.
•   Applications will be accepted by April 25th 2024.
•   The entry fee is 20 € per team to be paid in cash.
•   Entry fee payments can be made at the Management Office of Paklenica National Park, located in Starigrad Paklenica (between 1.00 pm and 3.00 pm), in the days prior to the competition or on April 27th 2024 (Saturday), between 6.00 am and 6.45 am, at the information desk in the Velika Paklenica canyon (Entrance 1).
•   The entry fee covers the cost of competition materials including a T-shirt.

COMPETITION RULES:

The competition will be held on April 27th 2024 from 7.00 am to 7.00 pm.
• The goal of the competition is to finish climbing as many routes as possible within a predetermined time period.
• The competition will be divided into three categories (men’s pairs, women’s pairs, mixed pairs).
• The use of standard certified climbing gear, including a helmet, is mandatory.
• All participants must indicate the category they will be participating in before the start of the competition.
• All pairs (teams) must climb together (lead climber/belayer) from the start of the competition until the end.
• Participants will be provided with a scoring sheet upon their application.
• For every route they complete the climbers will enter the appropriate points into their scoring sheet according to the scoring chart.
• Only routes completed in the free climbing technique as lead climber are valid (top rope is not allowed).
• During long routes the climbers may reverse their roles as lead climber, in which case they will enter points into their scoring sheet for each length they have freeclimbed.
• Climbing will be allowed in all sectors.
• Each route may be climbed only once (with pairs, each team member can take the same route as his/her partner, but it must be free-climbed).
• The competition relies on the fair play of all participants, as there will be no referees.
• The organizer will gather the scoring sheets at the end of the competition process the data and declare the winners.
Lists of pairs (teams) that have climbed less than 10 directions/10 lengths in long directions/the equivalent of a combination of short and long directions will not be processed.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE “PAKLENICA FROM DAWN TO DUSK 2021” CLIMBING MARATHON:

•   All participants must be at least 18 years old and have an active membership in a sport-climbing or alpine club/section.
•   Participants apply in three different categories (men’s pairs, women’s pairs, mixed pairs).
• The number of pairs is limited to a total of 40 (80 competitors).
•   All participants must send in (or bring along) a liability waiver stating that they enter the competition at their own risk.
•   Applications will be accepted by September 10th, 2021. The competitors from Croatia apply through the Croatian Sports Climbing Federation https://hsps-climbing.org/.
•   The entry fee is HRK 80 per team. Competitors from Croatia pay the entry fee through HSPS.
• Foreign competitors can pay the entry fee at the Management Office of Paklenica National Park, located in Starigrad Paklenica, in the days prior to the competition or on September 25th, 2021 (Saturday), between 6.30 am and 7.00 am, at the information desk in the Velika Paklenica canyon.
•   The entry fee covers the cost of competition materials including a T-shirt.
